Residential Diversity Counselors

We are hiring seasonal Residential Diversity Counselors, certified teachers, an Operations Director, a Registrations and Food Services Monitor, a Residential Nurse and a Facility Manager. We are looking for people who are passionate about our mission & available for the Fall season from 9/5/16 - 11/20/16.



POSITION OVERVIEW

Residential Diversity Counselors facilitate diverse groups of students as they learn to live, work, and play together. Staff create a caring, supportive, exuberant and challenging learning environment and provide instruction in diversity, math, science, language arts, social studies and team building.

We have various positions available; housing included, meals provided while Camp is in session. This is a perfect opportunity to gain valuable experience in teaching, social justice education, outdoor education, group facilitation, and experience working on a diverse team.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 19 years of age.
  • Passion for and knowledge of youth development, social justice and diversity education, and creating cooperative working, teaching, and learning communities.
  • At least two years of experience in working with youth and adults from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
  • At least one year of experience in group facilitation and/or team building facilitation.
  • Experience working with children ages 9-11.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Stamina to work extremely long and rewarding hours.
  • Ability and desire to ensure all students can access our unique programming.
  • Ability and desire to live and work in a tight-knit, diverse community.
