The Discovery Center Privacy Policy

The Discovery Center is committed to protecting your privacy and does not collect personal indentifying information from you when you visit our web site unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary.

Reading or Downloading
The Discovery Center collects and stores only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the internet ( For an example,, if you are connecting from an yahoo account, or if you are connecting from a Princeton University domain), the date and time you access our web site, and the internet address of the Web site from which you linked to our web site. We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our web site, and to help make our site more useful to visitors.

Online Profile Updates and Donations
If you complete the Profile update form and share your personally identifying information, this information will be used only to provide you with more targeted content. We may use your contact information to send further information about The Discovery Center or to contact you when necessary. You may always opt – out of receiving future mailing: see "Opt Out" section below.

Sending The Discovery Center an email.
You may decide to send us a personally information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or a comment, or by filling out a Web form that provides us this information. The Discovery Center uses this personal indentifying information for e – mail primarily to respond to your request. We may forward your e-mail to other employees who are better able to answer your questions. We may also use your e-mail to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest to you. The Discovery Center does not share any information collected with any outside parties. If you sign up for one of The Discovery Center's e –mail lists we will only send you the kinds of information you have requested.

Students and Privacy.
For students under the age of 18 years old who visit our web site special rules apply. The Discovery Center does not request personal information about students, such as first and last name or street address and city/town. When students send an e-mail to The Discovery Center, their online contact information ( e-mail address) is not used to reconnect with them and is not maintained in a retrievable form.

Staff and Volunteer Online Applications
The Discovery Center is dedicated to protecting the privacy of our students, staff and volunteers. The information gathered through the staff and volunteer online application is for The Discovery Center's internal hiring process and background check. Content and information gathered on this site will not be shared with any third parties unless permission is granted.

E-mail addresses provided through this process will only be used for sending back to you a PDF attachment or the completed portion of the application. Your e-mail address will remain private and will not e shared with outside third parties or solicitors.
